This position is funded from the Commonwealth's annual operating budget.Duties:
-Performs telephone crisis intervention and triage and develops appropriate intervention plans daily, in order to keep people safe.
-Performs face-to-face, comprehensive crisis evaluations both on-site and on a mobile basis, to facilitate crisis stabilization.
-Conducts purposeful clinical interviews with clients, families and appropriate community resources to obtain pertinent clinical and demographic data for treatment planning. Participates in diagnostic conferences as indicated.
-Contacts MBHP/MassHealth with required alerts and updates. Seeks authorization from all insurers with regard to services for their clients/members. Performs bed searches as needed.
-Provides formal clinical supervision to assigned clinicians. Oversees completion of licensure requirements.
-Receives and reports critical communications issues in accordance with DMH policy.
-Provides follow-up crisis intervention services to eligible clients by re-evaluating and referring for resources, as applicable.
-Coordinates appropriate outpatient services, including therapy, day treatment, medication evaluation, and treatment and so forth, as needed.
-Provides clinical support to assigned para-professional line staff, during the shift assigned.
-Prepares daily crisis report in a thorough manner, assuring all relevant information is provided.
-Utilizes appropriate resources in the management of clients and accesses the appropriate contact person to assure effective planning and intervention, i.e., DMH Case Management, etc.
-Completes all required forms: including comprehensive crisis evaluation, telephone contact sheets, AWA forms, Alert forms, appropriate child and adolescent forms and any required incident reports, as needed by DMH.
-Provides crisis intervention services to community programs during any community disaster/crisis and follow the Disaster Plan.
-Assists in the development of Emergency Response Plans and assures that EPRS's are reviewed when evaluating high-priority/profile clients, this when on the shift.
-Maintains a professional attitude and manner in providing crisis intervention services to the Community.
-Enters face to face and telephone contacts into the CAREs Meditech and /or MHIS Databases, if able, within the shift.
-Performs related duties as required. May require overtime on occasion.
-Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age related and cultural needs of the clients/patients served.
-Provides crisis intervention to clients admitted to the CSU as needed.
-Acts as ESP Director designee as needed.
-Attends and represents the Program at Community-based committee meetings as required, including hospital liaison meetings.
Qualifications:

Experience:
At least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience as a clinical social worker after earning a Master's degree in social work.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- A Doctorate in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, or human services may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience.
- One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A Master's or higher degree in social work is required.
LICENSES:
- Licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work is required.
- Based on assignment, travel may be required. Those employees who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license or the equivalent from another state.
Preferred
Qualifications:
-two years of demonstrated clinical supervisory experience.
-Experience in conducting mobile crisis evaluations for adults, children and transitional age youth.
