Facilities Technicians at BAMSI performs a variety of building maintenance work including some minor electrical, mechanical, plumbing, construction, modification, and repair activities in commercial and residential settings to ensure all locations are maintained in a safe and effective working condition.
Must have a high school diploma/GED with at least one year of experience in property maintenance and a general aptitude for all functions of facilities maintenance including HVAC, Electrical, Painting, Carpentry and Plumbing with a demonstrated competency in at least two of these areas.
A valid driver's in state of residence is also required.

Details related to demonstrating compliance with this requirement will be provided to candidates who have been selected for employment.
o Performs maintenance duties including but not limited to minor electrical and plumbing work and repair, snow removal, light carpentry, painting, general building maintenance as assigned by supervisor or designee.
This may include overtime, working varied hours and/or occasional weekends.
o Completes daily logs of all work performed recording receipts of any associated expenditures.
o Checks envVisual Facilities Work Order system before going into a program to make sure all open work orders are done while there and recording all work onto envVisual system when completed.
o Schedules work priorities with supervisor on a regular basis.
o Identifies potential problems and performs preventative maintenance and repair work as required.
o Responds to emergency situations as required, makes immediate repairs as appropriate, and if supervisor approves calls outside vendor for further assistance.
o Performs general clean up of job sites, equipment and tools daily.
o Observes and implements appropriate safety practices while performing all duties, including driving, and follows all applicable laws, codes and standards, safety and environmental regulations and departmental and agency policies, procedures and protocols.
o Assists with other Facility Department responsibilities as required, including, but not limited to, painting, cleaning shop and vehicles, running errands, picking up supplies, moving furnishings/equipment involving persons served and/or administration staff and some cleaning, such as toilet overflows or gutters.
o Repairs, as required, appliances, including, but not limited to, washers, dryers, and ovens.
o Drives BAMSI vehicles from one work site to another.
o Conducts work in a professional and mature manner being courteous and respectful to persons served, staff, facility management, fellow staff, and the public in all locations.
o Responsible for securely, carefully and appropriately maintaining tools, equipment, vehicles, furnishings and real property.
o Must be neat, clean and presentable while on the job wearing BAMSI provided clothing and visible badge while at BAMSI locations.
o During Covid 19 period must wear face mask and gloves to any BAMSI locations.
o High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) and at least one year of experience in property maintenance.
o General aptitude for all functional areas of facilities maintenance, including HVAC, Electrical, Painting, Carpentry and Plumbing, and demonstrated competency in at least two of these areas.
o Possession of valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
o Must have the ability to regularly climb ladders, to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds and to work in outdoor environments in a variety of weather conditions.
o Must possess knowledge, experience and skill in the use of use of various hand and power tools.
o Must be able to pass criminal background check (CORI).
o Demonstrated organizational, project management and time management skills.
o Frequently working alone or without close supervision, must demonstrate a strong self-directed work ethic and trustworthiness.
o Must successfully complete all BAMSI training and refresher training required for this position in a timely manner.
