Under the general supervision of the Director of Quality Resources, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Surgical Services, collaborates with members of the Surgical and Anesthesia departments to design, develop and implement tools for measuring and bench-marking organizational performance in the areas of clinical outcomes, external reporting, and compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the collection and submission of data to external surgical quality databases as assigned.
Data capture is accomplished through high-quality clinical screening of surgical cases from multiple service lines.
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Surgical Services, in collaboration with the Chief and Nursing Leadership for the Operating Room, is the third member of the surgical Triad team and works closely with members of the Surgical and Anesthesia departments to support the Chief in maintaining quality care within the acute care setting; the Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Surgical Services assists to integrate quality care across service lines.
This individual works with Service Chiefs to establish key metrics that will enhance surgical management and drive continuous improvements in patient outcomes, including reducing unexpected outcomes.
