Sales Representative - Mechanical/Technical Background - New England Territory
I'm recruiting candidates with territory sales experience for a leading, global manufacturer. The sales territory will include Rhode Island, Cape Cod, and the State of Connecticut. The office location is in Southeastern Massachusetts. Candidates must offer experience with large equipment and a mechanical background and experience is required. Travel requirements include the ability to travel 3-4 nights per month within the assigned territory.
A successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, drive, strong communication skills, and organization. He/she will be capable of developing new clients and maintaining current. Candidates will need to quickly gain comprehensive knowledge of the products with the ability to present specifications to engineers and engineering firms. Candidates must possess the ability to promote and sell a large range of underground equipment and casting products. The candidate must be able to address various customer segments within the construction industry; including specifying engineers, contractors, distributors and municipalities. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business is required.

Creates and updates lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, and other sources
Strategically travels throughout assigned territory to call on current and prospective customers to solicit specifications and orders
Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or literature, and emphasizes salable features and benefits
Quotes prices, prepares sales contracts for orders obtained and inputs orders.
Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules
Prepares all required reports of business transactions, sales progress and submits expense accounts, as required
Makes service calls, upon customer request, to accomplish minor repairs to company products
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university required; and two years related experience.
Mechanical aptitude and technical background in order to sell large equipment by providing product specifications
Castings background is a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
