Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits)

The Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits) is responsible for the management of the Education Debt Reduction and Student Loan Repayment programs at the VA Boston Healthcare System, in addition to providing HR support for the HR Officer/Assistant HR Officer, and both general and specialized Human Resources support for the entire Human Resources Management Service.
The incumbent responds to all inquiries pertaining to these programs on behalf of the Chief, HRMS and functions as the technical advisor to HR Specialists, managers, employees, prospective participants, Fiscal Service, and Payroll personnel.
He/she makes recommendations to the EDRP Board for changes in qualifying occupations and publishes changes for medical center employees.
Additionally, the incumbent serves as the Primary Control Point Clerk and performs most fiscal functions for HRMS, analyzing and developing long term and short term budget requirements for assigned control points and prepares the annual budget submission.
In support of the Chief, HRMS, the incumbent prepares a variety of managerial reports that include preparation of workload data from a variety of sources and analysis of workload trends, and also composes and prepares correspondence of a technical nature for the signature of the Chief/Assistant Chief.

Selectee may be required to work at any Boston Healthcare System campus, as needed.
NOTE:

NOTE:
Time-in-Grade Restriction - Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service.
NOTE:
Current or Former Federal Employees must submit copies of their most recent SF-50, (Notice of Personnel Action).
The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure, and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
